Tangled comparisons - concept art to the final film.
why the fuck is the concept art so much better
because 3D animation sucks the life out of movies
or because illustration is different than animation? !? ??! ?! ?
This post has been going around a bit and really bothered me. In case anyone is unaware, with illustration you can spend lots of time on one image, where in animation you spend lots of time on A LOT of different images to make a cohesive whole. Each piece of concept art has a very different feel to it, which is what led to the final movie having a set look to it. But all the aspects that are great about the concept art are in the movie as well; lighting, color scheme, atmosphere and atmospheric perspective, character design, etc. The only difference is that the illustration is a frame and the movie is thousands of frames. The amount of detail they got in this movie, considering the process, was really impressive to me.
how does 3D animation suck the life out of movies?
it’s not any easier than 2D animation. You still have to do so much work. The animation does just ~*~**~*~happen**~*~*~~. there is no animate button that does all the work. it’s still a person doing the animation. do u understand
I don’t agree that it sucks the life out of movies, maybe you do and that’s your opinion. But don’t put down the people who do like it and who work that way. And a side note to people who invalidate 3D animation as a style, a word to the wise: if you’re gonna bitch that 3D animation isn’t real animation kindly shut your mouth you literally couldn’t be more wrong.
ok thank you goodbye
